The Globe
This is a spherical painting of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London. It has a cylinder auditorium around the cubical stage. We saw the Globe Theater in the winter of 2003 and it seemed to be a spherical painting from the beginning. Five of Shakespeare's plays are found in the bottom section of the sphere and Queen Elizabeth and Shakespeare are found in the upper section. "All the world's a stage" also is represented in the small box seats the audience find themselves in. Each is its own stage.
